INDEPENDENT LIVING OPTIONS (ILO)
WHAT IS INDIVIDUALISED LIVING OPTIONS?
Individualised Living Options (ILO) are all about creating a living situation that’s designed around you.
Rather than paying for a house, ILO funding under the NDIS helps you explore different ways of living — whether that's sharing a home with housemates, living in a host's home, or other flexible arrangements — with supports tailored to your needs.

At ROS, we believe that where and how you live should reflect your values, choices, and lifestyle.
Our focus is on empowering you to live life your way.
HOW ILO WORKS
ILO is highly flexible and person-centred. It allows you to:

Choose how you want to live (alone, with housemates, or in a supportive host environment)
Design your supports to fit your daily living needs
Stay in control of your living arrangements as your life evolves
Build skills and independence in a safe, supportive environment

Importantly, ILO funding does not purchase property — it funds the supports that make independent living sustainable and successful.

HOW ILO FITS INTO YOUR NDIS PLAN

ILO funding typically falls under the Core Supports or Capacity Building categories in your NDIS plan.
To access ILO, you’ll usually go through a two-stage process:

-
Exploration and Design: Work with a provider like ROS to explore your living options and create a detailed support design.
-
Implementation: Put your tailored living arrangement and supports into place with ongoing review and adaptation as needed.

Our team can guide you through every step, ensuring your living situation matches your goals, preferences, and needs.
