Customised Employment is a person-centred approach that empowers choice, control, and opportunity in the world of work.
Rather than fitting people into existing jobs, Customised Employment builds employment pathways that match your passions, strengths, hobbies, and goals.
It’s a bespoke alternative within the wider employment landscape, alongside Disability Employment Services (DES) and Australian Disability Enterprises (ADEs).
With ROS, we tailor employment to you — not the other way around.
HOW CUSTOMISED EMPLOYMENT WORKS
Discovery – Getting to Know You
Discovery is the first step. It's all about building a big-picture understanding of who you are.
We explore your:
Strengths
Personal qualities
Skills
Hobbies and special interests
Work and personal preferences
We observe you at home, in the community, and in activities you enjoy — to uncover where your passions and potential align.
Job Skill Analysis Profile
From Discovery, we create a comprehensive Profile.
This document captures everything we've learned about you and becomes the foundation for finding the right employment opportunities.
Customised Plan for Employment (CPE)
After Discovery, we work together in a planning meeting to develop your Customised Plan for Employment (CPE).
The CPE is your personalised blueprint — a clear plan that outlines your career goals, strengths, support needs, and pathways toward meaningful work.
Resume and Customised Job Development
Using your CPE, we actively support you through Customised Job Development (CJD):
We identify employers who align with your interests and skills.
We help negotiate and customise roles that set you up for success.
We support you through work experiences, interviews, and creating visual resumes or portfolios when helpful.
It’s about matching you with the right employer, creating mutual value.
NDIS FUNDING FOR CUSTOMISED EMPLOYMENT
If you're an NDIS participant, your plan may fund Customised Employment supports.
Support typically falls under Capacity Building – Finding and Keeping a Job.
To access this support, you’ll need:
A long-term goal about employment in your NDIS plan.
Short-term goals to build your readiness for work.
Customised Employment isn’t about "taking what's available" — it’s about creating opportunities that genuinely fit you.

HOW WE DELIVER SUPPORT
Telehealth (Zoom, Skype, etc.)
Great for remote or regional participants, or anyone who prefers online sessions.
Mobile/In-Home Support
We come to you, whether at home or in the community — in line with NDIS guidelines.
In-Clinic Appointments
Face-to-face sessions in a calm, professional setting.
